Winter Learning Adventures

Kindergarten and First grade classes enjoyed Polar Express Day on December 16th.  Students came that day dressed in their warm P.J.'s and brought awesome decorated train cars.  We paraded around the Elementary and High School so everyone could see our wonderful train.  In the afternoon we enjoyed watching the movie The Polar Express while drinking hot cocoa and eating cookies.

On the morning of December 21st the Elementary School had fun doing Christmas activities.  The PreK, Kindergarten, and 1st grade classes had activities involving the book The Gingerbread Baby.  The 5 classes rotated to all 5 teachers, doing a different learning experience with each one.  It was a great way to end the first semester!
Our 2nd semester began with the addition of 2 new students-Devin J. and Aiden.  We are so happy to have them join us!
My 1st graders continue to learn to read.  We have progressed enough to start reading our First Softback Reader, which is very exciting for us!  Our Word Wall currently has @ 90 words on it, and we add more daily.  In Math we have been learning number patterns to 100 and will soon study 10's and 1's.  We have also been learning our Addition Facts.  The United States has been the focus in Social Studies, where we have learned U.S. symbols, landmarks, and history.  LEARNING IS FUN!
